Departing from Copacabana you will cruise on the world’s highest navigable lake : Lake Titikaka. Under a blue sky you will navigate on the lake and relax into the journey, sensing the energy around you.

Alongside the road to Yampupata, a port acrossfrom the Isla del Sol, there is a little pre-ColumbianHispanic town built entirely of stone. There, it seems as if time has stood still for many centuries. It is an authentic living museum.

As you navigate to the Sun Island you will visit Sicuani to where you can appreciate the ancient technology used in the construction of typical totora rafts. You will also have the opportunity to sail on one of these rafts, experiencing the spiritual bliss of what the indigenous civilization felt.

In the southern part of the Sun Island you can see Pilkokayna a temple for meditation and the Sacred Steps, a narrow Inca-era stone where you’ll find a spring that the Spaniards hoped was a Fountain of Youth. In the northern part of the Island is the Labyrinth (La Chincana), a mystical center which is believed to be the Centre of Creation of the Andean world. It is worthwhile to take a day walk following a path that winds through villas and Inca terraces above the lake, with a breathtaking view of Bolivia’s snowcapped Royal Cordillera beyond the lake’s most distant shore.

This trip offers a wonderful opportunity to discover the mystique and experience the history of the waters of Lake Titikaka
